You can check out Make Money Blogging page from Brett and his Monetize Your Blog. Check out some of the cool articles on the Monetize Your Blog such as this one about 7 Ways to Measure The Success of Your Blog:

1. Website Traffic

How much traffic your blog receives is an absolute figure and one that can be measured fairly easily. Free tools such as StatCounter and Google Analytics are quick and easy to setup and will give you a good breakdown of how much traffic your blog receives as well as more detailed analysis.

Some may consider 10 visitors per day successful. For others, the threshold might be 100 or 1,000 or even more. It’s a personal thing and will depend on a blog’s niche and the blogger’s aspirations.

But what if we look deeper? What if we looked at measures like the number of page loads per visit or visit length. Maybe these measures would give us more insight into what our visitors think of our blog, and ultimately whether our blog is successful.

Featured Page - Business

Check out the Business page from Bloggy Business Today. You can find great posts on how to deal with various different business situations as this post about anger management:

Anger management is something that most superiors and managers would do well consider. While managing their current section is already a burden as it is, nothing beats being able to put your emotion in check before you start saying some things you may soon regret for yourself and also as far as credibility is concerned.

Now there are a lot of ways to approach anger management and mind you they are not as easy as saying I can handle it. Many managers today seek anger management help and with proper anger management techniques, the product is really better relationships with people at work.

But anger management does not only limit itself towards the office setting. Anger management goes as far as controlling your emotions at home. Many of us need anger management counseling but people just refuse to take part in such anger management programs.

Anger management is really something that people must control. It is not really a pretty sight to see people blowing off their tops every once in a while. There are anger management classes available but unless a person fully submits and is willing to take the said anger management groups, chances are he may be slowly dipping in rating and losing friends who may understand him as a whole.

Google has just announce that it’s going to make a Wiki type of content management system where authoratative figures can write and contribute content just like Wikipedia except users can get 50% of AdSense revenue generated from the pages. Google proves that Wiki monetization is the future with its new Knols Project.

This news is just too good for us paid wikis as we are developing same features as the new Knols Project. We will be trying to piggyback on their launch date for sure.

Here’s the details:

The web contains an enormous amount of information, and Google has helped to make that information more easily accessible by providing pretty good search facilities. But not everything is written nor is everything well organized to make it easily discoverable. There are millions of people who possess useful knowledge that they would love to share, and there are billions of people who can benefit from it. We believe that many do not share that knowledge today simply because it is not easy enough to do that. The challenge posed to us by Larry, Sergey and Eric was to find a way to help people share their knowledge. This is our main goal.

Earlier this week, we started inviting a selected group of people to try a new, free tool that we are calling “knol”, which stands for a unit of knowledge. Our goal is to encourage people who know a particular subject to write an authoritative article about it. The tool is still in development and this is just the first phase of testing. For now, using it is by invitation only. But we wanted to share with everyone the basic premises and goals behind this project.

The key idea behind the knol project is to highlight authors. Books have authors’ names right on the cover, news articles have bylines, scientific articles always have authors — but somehow the web evolved without a strong standard to keep authors names highlighted. We believe that knowing who wrote what will significantly help users make better use of web content. At the heart, a knol is just a web page; we use the word “knol” as the name of the project and as an instance of an article interchangeably. It is well-organized, nicely presented, and has a distinct look and feel, but it is still just a web page. Google will provide easy-to-use tools for writing, editing, and so on, and it will provide free hosting of the content. Writers only need to write; we’ll do the rest.

A knol on a particular topic is meant to be the first thing someone who searches for this topic for the first time will want to read. The goal is for knols to cover all topics, from scientific concepts, to medical information, from geographical and historical, to entertainment, from product information, to how-to-fix-it instructions. Google will not serve as an editor in any way, and will not bless any content. All editorial responsibilities and control will rest with the authors. We hope that knols will include the opinions and points of view of the authors who will put their reputation on the line. Anyone will be free to write. For many topics, there will likely be competing knols on the same subject. Competition of ideas is a good thing.

Knols will include strong community tools. People will be able to submit comments, questions, edits, additional content, and so on. Anyone will be able to rate a knol or write a review of it. Knols will also include references and links to additional information. At the discretion of the author, a knol may include ads. If an author chooses to include ads, Google will provide the author with substantial revenue share from the proceeds of those ads.

Once testing is completed, participation in knols will be completely open, and we cannot expect that all of them will be of high quality. Our job in Search Quality will be to rank the knols appropriately when they appear in Google search results. We are quite experienced with ranking web pages, and we feel confident that we will be up to the challenge. We are very excited by the potential to substantially increase the dissemination of knowledge.

We do not want to build a walled garden of content; we want to disseminate it as widely as possible. Google will not ask for any exclusivity on any of this content and will make that content available to any other search engine.

Check out the Online Marketing page by flaminglacer’s mutterings Blog, the musings and mutterings of a Net Wanderer, Online Marketer and Grumpy Old Woman!

Here’s an excerpt from the About page from her blog, flaminglacer’s mutterings:

I’ve been involved one way and another with the world of computers ever since I can remember - working with them, loving them, hating them, loving them again and then came the Internet and it became an obsession. The whole process fascinates me in more ways than I can describe. The world has changed completely in a very short space of time and though there have been many factors, the advent of the internet has to be one of the greatest. I doubt if it’s all positive, but equally it’s not the root of all evil. For me it’s opened up a world of communication - I have friends all over the globe that I would never otherwise have known. I can communicate with my friends at the touch of a button - and yes, we do meet in the real world as well! On a practical basis, I can run a business from the comfort of my own home, working when I want and how I want, which fits in with my commitments to family, friends and everything else.

You should check out their blog about article writing for some information on writing articles as this post on how to get articles without writing:

  1. Use the services of a ghostwriter
  2. Purchase private label rights to the articles of others
  3. Conduct an expert interview with someone interesting and have that interview transcribed into text
  4. Borrow another writer’s article - being sure to do this with their permission and also leaving the credits intact
  5. Use public domain articles where permission isn’t required but it helps to build trust if you acknowledge your source
  6. Collate and report on survey results. Conduct your survey through the free service provided by www.surveymonkey.com

Visit Making Money Online page by Bruce Hopkins for no nonsense tips on how to make money online.

Check out his post on Revenue Sharing Programs:

There are quite a few companies that are now utilizing the idea of revenue sharing to attract visitors. The first website I heard of that did this was Digital point and this practice may account for Digital Point’s growth rate over the past couple of years. The main way most web sites do this is by utilizing Adsense. Basically you put your Adsense code in your account and then you get a percentage of the clicks to your Adsense account.

Check out the Tech Tips Page or visit Mike Folan’s blog for tech tips with your new Business.

Learn how to back up all your important data(including your new business idea) using iTunes library to CD or DVD and more.

Excerpt from his blog post on the iTunes backup:

Backing up your iTunes library to a CD or DVD

To burn your media files to a disc you must have the suitable hardware to do so. In order to copy to a CD you must have a CD burner drive. Similarly, to write ot a DVD you need a DVD burner.

To create your backup disc

  1. From the File menu, choose Back Up to Disc.
  2. Select the option you want from the presenting window and click Back Up
  3. Insert a blank disc CD or DVD into your computer’s burner . iTunes will scan the disc and begin burning.

iTunes burns the media files that fit on one disc and then asks you to insert more discs to continue burning the remaining files. Don’t eject a disc while a backup is in progress.

Oops, looks like Graham Langdon is founder of our new site now. (The funny thing is that when EntreCard was launched, people thought we were the ones behind EntreCard… must be a coincidence…irony…whatever…) That’s okay, we don’t mind being associated to a creative mind.

One Buck Wiki, Five Dollar Wiki, Million Dollar Wiki…Here’s another one to add to the list: The ever ambitious Graham Langdon and crew are in the process of launching yet another pay-per-page Wiki project - The EntreWiki. The EntreWiki is advertised as ‘A New Place for Entrepreneurs to Advertise Their Business Ideas.’ Like the Million Dollar Wiki, advertising pages are for sale starting at $100. As an advertisement page owner, you own the page for the lifetime of the site guaranteed at a minimum of 15 years.

The truth is, we got the name “EntreWiki” from”EntreCard”. It just hit us that EntreWiki would be better than EntrepreneurWiki or anything else because of its shortness.
